Pro tip:  Just because something never happened before doesn't automatically make it a historic event when it occurs for the first time.

Questionable. It's definitely historic when looking at the past. 20 years from now, who knows?  :)

So having my first bowel movement is a historic event?

Rather than having to enforce that, it would be easier to turn the statistics off.

I second that motion.

I myself would rather they not be turned off because I enjoy things like charts and statistics, but eh. I'm not going to be posting about them or anything. If you all do turn them off, it's not that big a deal. In the end I won't really care. I'm just throwing my two cents in.

Sadly, we have people here who would probably do exactly that. And then they'd wonder why they were being sued for divorce shortly thereafter.

QuoteSure, it's funny, but if it starts happening too much, the people posting interesting stuff start leaving the site, and you get nothing but garbage posts. And then the forum as a whole declines. Ha! Ha!

The stats should stay! Now, I don't really check the advanced statistics every day like some people do, but I love it when forums have advanced statistics showing how they have changed over time.

If we're taking a vote I say turn the stats off.  A lot of the problem threads that have come up lately have been stat oriented.

I agree with Max. Let's get back to talking about roads, not stats.

Seriously. There is literally one forum on the entire web that is road-oriented. We don't need to dissect everyone's personal posting habits.

On a much more personal level, I'd consider the guaranteed ability to view forum stats to be decent compensation for the schlock I've gotten since I joined. Full stop.

I can also commit to no more statistics threads.
This has become pathetic, and it's distressing and sad. Please stop.

My minions are having lots of fun filling in.

I'm eating popcorn. I can't pop it fast enough.

The mods and admin are wringing their hands. They should be. But it's OK. Everybody does foolish stuff sometimes, (and tacky stuff too, like making mountains out of mole hills, and party pooping, and clumsifying things - you get the idea).

Thank goodness we're a very forgiving bunch, and thank goodness we have good senses of humor, too, and know how to forgive and forget and move on with life.

I think we've had an even amount of pokes. We'll call it even (and quits).
