Dallas, planned toll road widenings

* Dallas North Tollway: widen to four lanes in each direction (currently 3 lanes each way) from SH 121 Sam Rayburn Tollway south to Belt Line Road, start in March 2015 and complete in 2018. Right-of-way is super-narrow south of Bush Turnpike so it will be interesting to see how this is done.

* Dallas North Tollway - Bush Turnpike Interchange: widen connectors on north side to two lanes each way, complete by 2018. This is long overdue since that interchange was horribly designed and has been the cause of traffic congestion. TxDOT is funding a project to fix the design flaws of the Bush Turnpike/US 75 interchange.

* Bush Turnpike from IH 35E (Carrollton) to SH 78 (Garland): widen to four lanes each way (currently 3 lanes each way.) The section from DNT to US 75 will proceed first. In my view they should go ahead and widen to five lanes each way since there is right-of-way readily available. But the plan is for four lanes each way.

* Sam Rayburn Tollway: widen to four lanes each way (currently 3 lanes each way). This appears to be the last item to be built, after the other widenings. This tollway is fairly new so it is a good indication that traffic is building up to require a new lane. (It's a good indication for NTTA revenue)
