CT-63 Bridge Collapse

Mergingtraffic

The 4-lane bridge that carries CT-63 over the CT River partially collapsed this morning.  It's a 4-lane bridge that is being reconstructed.  During construction the bridge was narrowed to two lanes.

Just be glad that this happened after that section of bridge was condemned, rather than while it was still open to traffic.
If you always take the same road, you will never see anything new.

A lot of the bridges in the Naugatuck Valley seem to be quite old, but they are quite interesting compared to the normally bland bridges in the state.

To avoid confusion, that should be the NAUGATUCK River as CT 63 doesn't cross the Connecticut River.
