Are those yellow lines on R759 actually necessary?  I’m getting some California back road vibes off those first two photos.

Perhaps easier to follow than if there are no painted lines, if it's dark and/or foggy?

That is a benefit, but my understanding is the double yellows indicate no stopping/parking on this stretch. If the yellow lines weren't there, you would be allowed to park.

Interesting, I would have thought the rock barrier would be enough of a deterrent to parking?

Speaking of one lane roads, I had my fill today and got some pretty okay photos out of them.

And for some reason a surprisingly nice photo of the western beginning of CA 216:

A couple pictures from my fall break trip:

Stop sign at the Panther Junction Visitors Center at Big Bend NP

Stuck at a temporary construction signal in the middle of nowhere, somewhere on TX 54 NB north of Van Horn

The opposite perspective from Max Rockatansky's picture of Guadalupe Peak. This was taken on the peak, and you can see US 62/180 snaking through the foothills, and in the background to the right you can see the straight line of TX 54 cutting through the wilderness.

Took this earlier this afternoon. I-5 runs from the bottom left towards the top right, I-90 runs across from left to right, and Mount Rainier towers over it all way in the distance. I mainly just like the combination of the roads and the mountain.
