A recent article I saw on a railfan board noted that Rhode Island officials are investigating an accusation about the fill dirt used at the US Route 6-RI State Route 10 interchange west of Providence.

The union representing the heavy equipment operators brought up the issue; evidently the sandy soil at the interchange location was mixed with fill material excavated from a rail station project managed by the same construction firm.  The fill dirt from the station project included oil and other material not suitable for fill. While they're at it, could they install exit numbers on US 6/RI 10 (preferably a continuation of RI 10's exit numbers)? Then they should install exit numbers on the US 6 Dennis J. Roberts Expressway, via the mileage of US 6 from the Connecticut/Rhode Island border.
