In CT, the state is extending the US-7 Expressway three miles north of it's current terminus in Brookfield all the way up to the New Milford town line.

This project will alleviate congestion on the local streets.  Also, north of where the new expressway will end, US-7 will continues as a 4-lane boulevard for a bit.

For those interested, here is a map pdf layout of the project.

The new expressway is set to open at the end of this year!

7 and 72 both opening in short order, within 30 miles of each other... can you say Western Connecticut Road Meet?  I'm very tempted...

That sounds good to me.

Plus you could see the recently widened US-7 in Ridgefield from CT-35 going two miles north.  That project wrapped up last year and widened US-7 from two to four lanes.

Also, you could see the current US-7 widening project from the northen edge of the above project to the expressway portion in Danbury.  This project also features a new diamond interchange with Wooster Heights Road and a new twin span bridge over the road.

And let's not forget the 4th widening project on US-7 down south in Wilton, also widening from two to four lanes.

Lots to see in Western Connecticut!
Also, on your way to Route 72, check out the recently widened I-84 in Cheshire from 4 to 6 lanes!

Dougtone

I have been thinking of a Danbury mini-meet with upcoming opening of the US 7 Brookfield Bypass.  I've checked out the progress from time to time, and have felt that a meet may be better for just after the bypass opens.  As for Bristol, it may just be a bit too far away from Danbury, and may work better for a 2nd Hartford meet venture.
