CT Route 2 Bypass Project set to open
« on: June 22, 2009, 07:34:31 PM »

The 2 mile CT-2 Bypass project by the Foxwwods casino is set to officially open this week.  (This is not to be confused with the proposed Route 2A Bypass currently waiting funding as the FEIS was completed already)

The project is a mix of expressway type features and boulevard vs. frontage roads design.

Through traffic that is bypassing the casinos takes the elevated expressway bypass while casino traffic can exit and use frontage roads to use local streets and the casino itself.  Construction took about 2 years.
