Apparently, an earthquake (magnitude around 4.1) hit New England on Monday. Did anyone feel the tremors? I didn't, but some family members and neighbors did.

I live in California, I not only didn't feel your earthquake, but an M4 is called a "seismic event" here, not an "earthquake". I also didn't feel any of the dozen or so M3 events in California last week. It's been pretty quiet out here.

I live in California, I not only didn't feel your earthquake, but an M4 is called a "seismic event" here, not an "earthquake". I also didn't feel any of the dozen or so M3 events in California last week. It's been pretty quiet out here.

If I had a nickel for every seismic event of similar size since 2016 (when I moved back west) I'd have enough for a take out meal.

Pfft.  Experienced an earthquake in western MA years ago and in Albany, NY not so many years ago.

People are just ignorant of where faults run.

There was an earthquake near Cuba which caused some shaking the lower Florida Keys (either 2013 or 2014).  I was off that day taking a nap on my couch when the earthquake happened and I didn't wake up.  The command was the safety POC for decided it was a good idea to call the personnel recall list for some reason.  When they got to me I told them to stop.

Here in SoCal, I haven't felt a tremor in over a decade. That's what makes me nervous.

My main office is about 45 miles east of the San Andreas Fault.  I was sitting on the computer in 2017 when a 4.something quake started.  That quake actually ended up cracking the drywall.  I never repaired the crack and show it off to visitors from out of state.

I felt it on Cape Cod. However, I assumed it was a result of some sewer main construction going on nearby, and didn't find out until the next morning that it was an earthquake. Oops.
