I just ate a burger with mac and cheese and bacon in it. So good.

In, or on?
In.

Mixed with the hamburger? That sounds interesting, almost more like meatloaf or something.

My burger of choice comes from Patrick's Butcher Boy

Either grilled onion and ketchup  OR bacon and BBQ sauce.

I like switching around, though it confuses the counter help.
"Is this the Krusty Krab? No, this is Patrick's."

;)

I misinterpreted your question. It was on the burger, but between both buns.

Brew Brothers in Reno used to have a burger with two grilled cheese sandwiches serving as the buns and the burger patty in between.  A few old Yelp photos here.  I tried it once; a bit more of a fat bomb than I ever really need.

I'm mustard, lettuce, pickle.  Cheese is OK but I can do without it.  I'd rather spend that fat on ground beef with a higher fat content, which retains some of the moisture.  The 7% fat content ground beef is healthier but it cooks up too dry, and the 4% fat ground beef (Trader Joe's has it) makes a godawful burger but works well for things requiring crumbled ground beef like tacos and omelette fillings.

There used to be a food truck in Redmond that did the same thing.  They called it the "Cheezus".

plain

Generally speaking, I usually like my burgers either smashed or grilled (medium well). As for the toppings:

Cheese (cheddar, pepper jack or swiss, I hate American cheese but will get it if the only option)

Lettuce, as long as it's iceberg

Mustard, sometimes with a little Mayo (I might give up Mayo altogether after reading what hbelkins called it upthread lmao)

Onions, preferably grilled

sometimes Bacon

sometimes Tomatoes

NO ketchup, pickles, mushrooms or jalapeno ever

For those who said a whole slice of onions, Cookout is definitely your friend. I usually have to remove all but the two outer rings when I eat their burgers.

I visited a Sheetz yesterday for the first time in more than three years, and got a burger. I got BBQ sauce, cheddar cheese, bacon, and fries on my burger.

Potato chips on a burger is not unheard of.  At Bobby's Burger Palace (Bobby Flay's burger chain), their "flagship" burger - the Crunchburger - comes with potato chips on the burger.

I got my fries actually on the burger. For my side, I opted for the app sampler with cheese curds (better than Culver's), mac & cheese bites, and tots.
