Actually their trees and climate don't generate much in the way of color. Just look at the invasive Norway Maples that grow everywhere around here, most of them are still green and then turn yellow around Thanksgiving. Even if you planted a Sugar Maple where he lives, it would just turn yellow, they don't have the hot days and cold fall nights we have.

Oklahoma is weird when it comes to this. You will get a few stunning yellows. The remainder of the trees will turn an orangish green and then drop the leaves. Red and true orange is rare to see.
