Texas: "Truck" Designations

Texas uses the the TRUCK banner in two different ways, the second not making good sense.

Application #1
To identify a truck route of a highway that is different from the primary route.
Example: US 380 passes through Denton. TRUCK US 380 follows LOOP 288 and part of I-35 around the north side of town.

Application #2
To identify a route trucks are required to use to avoid using a different highway.
Example: In Pilot Point, Tx , Trucks are not wanted on FM 1192 between US 377 and BUSINESS US 377. BUSINESS US 377 is signed as TRUCK BUSINESS US 377 because this is the route they're supposed to use to acess the downtown area. This doesn't make good sense to me and I think it's confusing. I think it would make more sense to use a TRUCK ROUTE sign below the route marker or on a seperate post. Better yet, place a sign at either end of town advising trucks of this situation with text such as:
NO TRUCKS ON FM 1192  USE BUSINESS US 377 AS ALT ROUTE

Notes: Google maps fails to show the BUSINESS designation. It also still shows the LOOP 387 designation that was dropped years ago in favor of the BUS 377 designation.
