What do the stars in AARoads Forum stand for?

Hi,
I'm curious to know what the stars under a user's name represent. E.g., I have 4 gold stars under my username. What does this mean? Is it related to your status?
If anyone can tell me, let me know!

it has to do with your post count.  at various thresholds, like 100 posts, you get another star.

after 5 gold stars, you move on to 1 blue star, and the maximum is 6 blue stars.

if anyone ever gets 6 blue stars, we're doing an intervention and surgically disconnecting them from the matrix.

various admin types and other head dudes have stars that are neither blue nor gold.

Yeah, I've seen those kind of guys before.  But I've also seen people with tons of posts because they offer support for a piece of software at a forum.  But still, you can spot a "post whore" with ease if you know the signs and stop them before they become a problem.

Fortunately, the forum allows to adjust anyone's post count, so if anyone started crowing obnoxiously about having 100,000 posts or something, we could always bust them back down to Post #33...

Agentsteel should be happy he isn't a member at my home board.
27 members over 10,000 posts.
10 over 20,000.
5 over 30,000.
1 over 40,000.

And I have 29,364.

And that's nothing compared to the troll board I haunt -- something like 35 members are over 10k, with the top member over 200k.

and how many of those posts are "bump", or even worse, "lol".

the absence of that sort of ass-hattery on this board is not an accident.  such things are carefully pruned out, usually on the user level.

"lol", not so much. "bump" is not uncommon, but for the most part, it's pure, unadultered spam, depending on the fora. Others are just really, really fast posters. It makes the MineField forum really hard to keep up with.

Why would I troll this board? That's counterproductive for my projects.
