Was @ the first ever playoff game in Consol history tonight. Man, what a game! It was rocking in there tonight. Especially after the Pens went up 2-0 in the game.

The Vancouver Canucks won the Western Association finals, they'll go to the Stanley cup finals against the Boston Bruins or the Tampa Bay Lightning. I hope the Canucks will break and get rid of the curse of Marty McSorley.

If the Bruins win, Boston will have had championships in all 4 major sports* within 8 seasons (2004-2011). Not sure if another city has already done this.

* some wise guys will say "all 3 major sports plus hockey". Off with their heads :-)

but the Eagles couldn't win the Super Bowl in Jan. 1981

Philly even had a chance for all four franchises to within 12 months of each other, but only the Phillies came through. Given Philly's luck, it's amazing that even the Phillies won!

76ers - spring 1980 (lost in finals)
Flyers - spring 1980 (lost in finals)
Phillies - 1980 (won world series)
Eagles - 1980 - 81 (lost Super Bowl in Jan 1981)

The only "we" when it comes to Boston is "we're going down to the rioting." Otherwise it's all about "me." Every Bostonian takes personal credit for winning the World Series.
