Dang it - forgot to count the OP. Anyway, mine was reply #1,000.

Well, I'm glad to see the Battle of Alberta between the Flames and Oilers back. The last time that happened was in 1991!

Stephane Dumas

The Hurricanes have been canned by the Rangers who'll meet the Lightning in the Eastern Conference finals while the Oilers will meet the Avalanche in the Western finals.

JayhawkCO

I'll take the Avs and the Lightning.

Big John

Avs win in OT to sweep the Oilers.

ET21

First finals appearance for the Avs in 21 years, quite impressive playoff run for them so far.

And with the Oilers' getting swept by the Avalanche, it's now a 29-year Stanley Cup drought for Canada.
Go Cubs Go! Go Cubs Go! Hey Chicago, what do you say? The Cubs are gonna win today!

Stephane Dumas

A strike had hit the Rangers. The Lightning will go against the Avs in the Stanley cup finals.

I tend to agree with you, although my brother Jeff lives in Denver, and he'd want the Avs to win instead.

I understand the Vasilevskiy is awesome, but the Avs have too much firepower. Cale Makar for the Conn Smythe.

The Lightning did present a challenge, but eventually lost in OT. They'll need to win Game 2 for a chance at a three-peat.

I have to agree with this. The Avs are too damn good. Bolts will probably win a game at home, but this isn't going to 7 games and I don't expect a Game 6.

Avs won by a touchdown in Denver. They should be able to finish this in 4 or 5 games.

Looks like Tampa Bay got caught in an Avalanche :bigass:

You may be right, because the Avalanche are up 3-1 in the series, and they'll have a chance to clinch in Denver tomorrow night. We'll see...

The Lightning are still alive for now.

Stephane Dumas

Well, the Lightning wasn't alive for long, the Avs won the 2022 Stanley Cup championship.

Third one ever (1996, 2001, 2022), so now they have as many Stanley Cups as the Denver Broncos do Lombardi Trophies. I know my brother Jeff is happy for them.
