This is an honest question. Some users have PM'd me and I was unable to answer back. So this is why I'm asking this question.

Used to have the ability to send them but I raged out of spite in anger.
I can't remember what I said to others that caused me to lose it, it's been over a year and there's no way to check.

Answer to the OP: No. You never have to make any thread. Doing nothing is an option.

This more or less sums it up to the point I'm willing to endorse it as being the official answer—I don't think there's much reason to continue the thread.
