Why does Flickr take so long to record views

I've been admiring a road enthusiast photo of a place in Georgia for weeks now.. I view the photo a few times a day. Yet after three weeks his photo says that zero people viewed the said picture.

I've noticed that on my own. I will see zero views for a month and then viola I now have 75 views in an instant.
Every day is a winding road, you just got to get used to it.
