East:
295 vs. 290
Again, really nice bridges set 295 apart.

287 vs. 195
The NYC beltway pulls out a tight victory.

476 vs. 376
376 could stick around late into the tournament considering how well it's doing.

495 vs. 395
Miami section wins it.

Midwest:
275 vs. 480
Easy.

196 vs. 294
That intersection with US 131 has saved 196's butt twice now for me in this tournament.

435 vs. 271
Has two bridges over the Missouri River.

270 vs. 465
Denver section pulls out the W for 270.

South:
285 vs. 635
Dallas > Atlanta

485 vs. 540
Is it wrong to make judgements here based on former I-540?

610 vs. 235
If 610 loses this I'll be pissed.

840 vs. 155
Only tough choice of the South this round.

West:
210 vs. 225
Heck, Lake Charles' 210 could beat 225 alone.

680 vs. 135
I don't really know how 135 made it out of the first round.

580 vs. 110
I think we've found our Cinderella 3di.

405 vs. 880
Whatever.

I-295 (301.34) vs I-290 (59.80)
I have a good feeling I-290 isn't going to win, but that's not going to stop me from casting my vote for it.

I-287 (98.72) vs I-195 (92.64)
Those extra six miles matter.

I-476 (129.61) vs I-376 (78.70)
Don't like that I-376 is discontinuous, at least according to Wikipedia it is.

I-495 (267.11) vs I-395 (76.34)
That's a lot of miles for one 3DI number.

MIDWEST
I-275 (182.34) vs I-480 (46.67)
Still anything that helps avoid Detroit...

I-196 (80.65) vs I-294 (53.42)
Yikes, I feel like my boy's gonna lose this one.

I-435 (80.81) vs I-271 (40.22)
Full circle still wins.

I-270 (143.47) vs I-465 (52.79)
Personal favorite has to win.

SOUTH
I-285 (86.78) vs I-635 (45.90)
I've actually travelled I-285, and it's decent from what I remember.

I-485 (66.68) vs I-540 (41.71)
Full beltway wins.

I-610 (42.49) vs I-235 (35.66)
For Texas' rendition.

I-840 (83.05) vs I-155 (48.06)
It's in Illinois, so I guess I'll vote for it.

WEST
I-210 (61.12) vs I-225 (12.00)
Kinda looks like a road I'd want to travel one day.

I-680 (103.44) vs I-135 (95.74)
Nice long rural route.

I-580 (105.72) vs I-110 (41.28)
I chose I-110 in the first round, so I shall stick with it for now.

I-405 (105.98) vs I-880 (63.79)
"Portland Bypass"

EAST:

I-295 (301.34) vs I-290 (59.80)
If you combined all the I-295's into a new US 495 that crossed a state line, AASHTO would have to consider it

I-287 (98.72) vs I-195 (92.64)
"From New York! America's Only City... It's the Late Show!"

I-476 (129.61) vs I-376 (78.70)
They're both overgrown routes in Pennsylvania. 476 wins in a quantum finish, where we changed the outcome by observing it.

I-495 (267.11) vs I-395 (76.34)
Miami; DC; Baltimore; Norwich; Bangor! What's not to like?

MIDWEST:

I-275 (182.34) vs I-480 (46.67)
A full beltway, crossing 3 state lines

I-196 (80.65) vs I-294 (53.42)
One of two surviving perfect squares

I-435 (80.81) vs I-271 (40.22)
Another full beltway

I-270 (143.47) vs I-465 (52.79)
I like the stock freeway

SOUTH:

I-285 (86.78) vs I-635 (45.90)
Feeling good about Georgia lately

I-485 (66.68) vs I-540 (41.71)
So which city has the roundest beltway, as in minimal ∫|r-r0| dr? Charlotte or Baltimore? (DC?)

I-610 (42.49) vs I-235 (35.66)
Give the non-beltways some love

I-840 (83.05) vs I-155 (48.06)
Newer, a little more interesting

WEST:

I-210 (61.12) vs I-225 (12.00)
Imagine a 40-mile stretch of CO 225 that Colorado never bothered signing as interstate

I-680 (103.44) vs I-135 (95.74)
All the other 680's are just imitating

I-580 (105.72) vs I-110 (41.28)
A close one, in terms of history and importance.

I-405 (105.98) vs I-880 (63.79)
Sorry, 880

EAST:

I-295 (301.34) vs I-290 (59.80)
The number of occurrences wins the day.

I-287 (98.72) vs I-195 (92.64)
Go Saco!

I-476 (129.61) vs I-376 (78.70)
I just feel like it's more important to its city.

I-495 (267.11) vs I-395 (76.34)
Politics.

MIDWEST:

I-275 (182.34) vs I-480 (46.67)
No real reason.  Length I suppose.

I-196 (80.65) vs I-294 (53.42)
Chicago > Grand Rapids

I-435 (80.81) vs I-271 (40.22)
KC homer.

I-270 (143.47) vs I-465 (52.79)
3 of the 4 270s are the highest AADT in their state.

SOUTH:

I-285 (86.78) vs I-635 (45.90)
Used to live right next to the 35/635 interchange.

I-485 (66.68) vs I-540 (41.71)
Was my first traveled highway in Arkansas.

I-610 (42.49) vs I-235 (35.66)
Da loop.

I-840 (83.05) vs I-155 (48.06)

I like the Nevada one.

I-405 (105.98) vs I-880 (63.79)
Gridlock be damned.

EAST
I-295 prevails over I-290 because of its vast variety.

I-195 wins over I-287, again based on variety.

In the battle of I-x76s on opposite sides of PA, I-376 with its tunnel and subsequent view of downtown Pittsburgh gets it done against I-476.

I'm giving the Battle of Washington to I-495, because it's a better-known number than I-395.

MIDWEST
I'll take I-275 over I-480 in the Battle of the Buckeye State.

Hometown bias wins out, as I-294 gets a win over I-196.

In the end, the last remaining Cleveland 3di will be eliminated by I-435.

The Indianapolis beltway puts up a valiant fight against the Columbus one, but I-270 prevails in the end.

SOUTH
I have a soft spot for Atlanta, so I-285 wins it for me.

I'm also picking I-485 because I-540 still has no business signed on a halfway-completed loop.

Houston's I-610 is a nice-looking freeway, so I'm taking it over I-235.

Going with I-840 this time, because both versions of I-155 are a snoozefest.

WEST
Based on my L.A. experiences, I'm going with I-210 over I-225.

I-680 is my pick over I-135, as it helps you avoid Oakland.

I-110 gets my vote, because L.A. > Bay Area.

I'm also taking I-405 for the same reason above.
Go Cubs Go! Go Cubs Go! Hey Chicago, what do you say? The Cubs are gonna win today!

EAST
I-295 wins it for me against I-287, based on the strength of its variety.

I'm also taking I-495 over I-376 for its iconic statuses on the Capital Beltway in DC and Long Island Expressway in NY.

MIDWEST
I'm taking I-294 in an upset bid over I-275.

I'm taking I-270 over I-435, because St. Louis > Kansas City.

SOUTH
In this sibling rivalry, the Atlanta Perimeter ousters its little brother known as the Charlotte Outerbelt.

I-610 takes out I-155 based on its existence in Houston and New Orleans.

WEST
I-210 wins it for me against I-680, as I'm more familiar with SoCal freeways than I am with NorCal's.

The final matchup, a battle of L.A. freeways, is a toughie, but I'll take I-405 over I-110 as it's also an eastern loop in Seattle.
Go Cubs Go! Go Cubs Go! Hey Chicago, what do you say? The Cubs are gonna win today!

St. Louis > Kansas City.

You're one of the few people that I've ever seen with that opinion.  :)

For me, KC by itself slightly beats out StL even though I lived in the St Louis area before (mainly because of the bbq), but since 270 is also in other cities, adding Columbus in tips the balance in 270's favor.

I have no problem with voting for 270 (I did).  I just know most people tend to like KC better than STL (including a bunch of former St. Louis peeps I know. "Where'd you go to high school?" is the way you know you're talking to a St. Louisian.)

I'm a former St Louis peep too, so add one more onto your list of former STL people that prefers KC over STL :).
KC's transportation infrastructure is interesting too. Cincinnati's media always uses KC when comparing our streetcar system (opened in same year, around same route length and same rolling stock), but KC's is doing much better for ridership. Also, I read somewhere that KC has relatively less traffic congestion on its freeways compared to metro areas its size (St Louis, Indy, Cincy, Columbus, Pittsburgh, etc), not sure how true it is though.

It's true.  At least last time I saw the stats, KC had the most freeway mileage per capita of any metro area.  There are very few places with congestion like you find in places like Denver, Atlanta, LA, etc.
