African Americans four times more likely to be caught by red light camera

That actually could be a topic on here.
Given cops' love of writing tickets in neighborhoods where the residents have neither the time nor the resources to fight them, it could also be true.

Why the bypass in The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy would have been useless
Which one? They discuss no fewer than two.
The one that gets his house destroyed, not the one that blows up Earth. The location of his house would determine the feasibility of a bypass there.
Oh, well, the Vogons' hyperspace bypass was rendered obsolete by the Infinite Improbability Drive.

I said the OTHER one. Where was his house located, to where it would need to be demolished to build a bypass? And a bypass of what city?

I was gonna say "Guildford," but then I remembered that's just where Arthur thinks Ford is from, not where he lives.

Just remembered that they mentioned town names on exit signs in (I think) the fourth book. I'll check it when I get home later today.

If what you're thinking of actually exists, you're correct that it's in So Long, And Thanks For All The Fish.

All it said was "is this your exit" and never gave a town name. Shame, as that would have made for an interesting thread.

Somewhere rural, since the house is described as being on a lane, but somewhere close to London, since Arthur (I believe) works for the BBC and met Trillian and Zaphod at a party in Islington.

Well, it does say he moved out of London and into the country. An address is actually given, but the region it gives doesn't exist. Islington is too close to be called the countryside. It's within the M25.
