At the Renegade Craft Fair in SF this weekend, we found a vendor selling necklaces where you can select your favorite assortment of (SoCal-only) freeways.

On her site (http://www.lmakai.com/commuter-collection-necklace/), you can select the usual suspects (10, 101, 405) along with the increasingly obscure (126, 38, and even unsigned 187). She's reportedly expanding into SF-area freeways (like "the 80", "the 580"... she's going to need to code-switch for regions outside LA) and NYC, where she currently offers subway line tags.
I have no relation to this seller, but like the idea.
I can't even explain the under-appreciation my wife would have for this.
I picked up a pair of Route 66 Earrings as a doorprize at the 66 Festival in Joplin.
This is amazing. I would wear this.

Heh. If I bought my wife something like that, she wouldn't speak to me for quite some time. She'd tell all her friends, too.
Many hours after my previous comment, I showed my wife the photo above. I got yelled at.

Aww, that makes me sad. I tried to think of this scenario with a different hobby that Mike likes exclusively, and a good example is ham radio. Mike really enjoys it, and it's something that he's exposed me to a little bit. I'd like to get my amateur radio license, but I don't think it is something I'd do without him. So if Mike got me a necklace with the ham/CB club logo on it, or a necklace with a radio, I'd wear it. It wouldn't be a piece of jewelry in heavy rotation, but I'd wear it from time to time.
Mmmmm, ham.

I think her reaction seemed to be premised on the idea that I might actually get her something like that (no way, I know better!).

Oh! Okay. Haha.
