I have 1 question. I will be commuting 7 days a week on I-84 at exit 13 to I-684 at exit 8 at 8:00-8:30 AM. I will be going the other way at 4:45-5:00. How long will it take and how bad is the commute at rush-hour times 7 days a week.
I think you should reconsider where you're living, if that's where your job is. Going through Danbury is rough, especially before holidays (Fridays in the summer, Thanksgiving Tuesday/Wednesday, etc.), in the direction you're going. It would be a lot easier if you could live on the west side of Danbury - don't know what's feasible for you.
Used to take I-84 quite frequently. It wasn't that bad in the morning, but can get rough in the afternoon, though not nearly as bad as further east (Waterbury area especially). Biggest thing with I-84 is the amount of truck traffic it gets.
If you are through Danbury before 5:00 you'll miss the worst of the evening rush. With no traffic the highway portion of that trip will be 25 minutes. With normal rush hour it'll take a bit more but not crazy much, at least earlier in the week. Thursday and Friday evenings you'll be stop and go the whole way and it will take... a while.
If you're commuting on the weekend (working 7 days a week? Damn!), you should have no trouble then.
