I heard about the new Interstate 2 down in south Texas. I thought it was really cool but I wondered. Is it going to be extended into Laredo and into Interstate 10?
At the moment, no. But future extensions are always possible.
As it stands, it will be a while before I-2 is even connected to the rest of the national interstate network.
We can only hope! However, I would hate to see US 83 get truncated to I-35 north of Laredo as TexDOT would do that if that did happen.
