Title: New I 395 Conn shield
Post by: JimmyI395 on September 20, 2013, 11:17:42 PM
Hello everybody
I saw this I 395 shield today in Putnam. I notice that instead of saying (Connecticut) it says Conn. Is this new??

Probably a contractor error. The white border is not constant width.

and they are '57 spec.  gorgeously wrong.  who pulled the '57 layout and the 30s-50s manual that stated that CONN must go up top on every shield?

I knew the width was totally not right.

Wow! I haven't seen "CONN" since that ancient state route sign off of I-91 South in New Haven!  :wow:

Take away "CONN" and I would've thought that was a Rhode Island sign installation!

Those are on the exiting side of the driveway for a newly-reconstructed Wal-Mart parking lot.  So the signs were erected by Wal-Mart's contractor doing finish work on the driveway.  Interesting that they went with a really old spec.
