Title: Alternate way to get to audubon from the schuylkyl (I 76) without hitting 422?
Post by: jru27 on September 29, 2013, 08:19:49 PM
so I drive from south jersey to 676 to 76 to 202 to 422 and then to 363 to get to work in audubon PA. However, there is a notice that construction will be going on october 3rd which results in 422 being shut down temporarily.

I am new to this area/commuting in general, so do you guys know any alternate ways to get to audubon avoiding 422? (Ultimate destination is Trooper Road in audubon).

Get on 202 North, go through norristown on W main St, turn onto egypt rd, and that will take you to 363

422 isn't going to be shut down at all. The press release states that at some point, the 422 ramp to 363 north will close for one weekend - my guess is closer to the end of the project in 2015 when the intersection at the end of the ramp needs to be reconfigured.   The press release also says that there will be off-peak (nights/weekends) lane closures on 422.

That said, what Steve G said is probably the only alternative...and there are many lights and a few tough lefts that way.  Even with the construction, I don't think you'll need an alternate.  If you insist, I would get off 76 at the new Exit 329 KOP/Norristown exit, go straight onto Henderson Rd, and then after a couple miles you'll get to 202 north, well past the Mall.
