Title: 121 Tollway north of Dallas TX to become Sam Rayburn Tollway

This toll road is to be named after a former speaker of the house.

Way before the news noticed this, it was already signed. I take it on the way to work if the other freeway is backed up and was pleasantly surprised to see the new signs posted!

The less arch-conservative counties (Dallas, Tarrant) represented on the board outvoted the conservative suburban counties to name this after him and pissed off the suburbanites quite a bit - because Rayburn was a Democrat. Democrats of the 1950s were nothing like the ones today but evidently that doesnt matter.
