Found a photo from a mostly empty Harbor Freeway in Los Angeles during Thanksgiving back in 1982. I'm not really familiar with southern California at all on this current date, but since I envision rather busy freeways, this was interesting to see.

The roads figure to be a little busier over Thanksgiving this year, myself included as one of those drivers (I'll be making a few hour's drive in the morning to see family for Thanksgiving dinner). Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
I bet it's busier these days, even on holidays. You'd never expect to see a freeway in LA empty like that!
They also said it was during what would usually be morning rush hour, so in late November that would be just after dawn. I'm sure it was more crowded later in the day.
Wasn't this around the time when CA-11 Became CA-110 and I-110.
You can probably find the exact date, but the change from 11 to 110 did occur around this time, since the improvements to the freeway were done in anticipation of the 1984 Olympics.
