Count me in. 9 hours of hell at a really popular Gamestop located in a Bridgewater mall. The only good news is that I work in the afternoon and not in the opening hours of morning - but still, getting into the mall, parking, and maneuvering through the tens and thousands of people is gonna be a bitch. Then dealing with a practically always filled store - it was like that when the Playstation 4 / Xbox One launched and died down a few days later - is always just wonderful.
So, who else here will be working and not shopping tomorrow?
I will be raising money for Toys for Tots tomorrow by playing my viola. (And for the next 2 to 3 weeks.)
Macy's at Florida Mall in just a few hours.
Neither working nor shopping.
Working a meager 4-hour shift at the supermarket deli. My brother has seen that store before me on Black Friday. He said it wasn't that bad when he was there last. The real hell where I work will be on Saturday, when the town does some elaborate tree lighting "spectacle" in a small park next to the supermarket's parking area. I'm sooooo glad I'll be off that day! The parking lot literally will have EVERY single space taken. Tree fans have bitched at us before, saying we didn't have enough parking. Go there in mid-week during the spring and summer and our lot can be half empty for hours.
P.S. As for Thanksgiving, we were only open until 2 PM local time.
Working 10 AM to 6 PM. It probably won't be that busy because our Black Friday deals aren't all that great.
Yeah, this is what you want to hear come from a prospective store manager, isn't it, corporate?
I'll be working today. My store is not too far from the local mall and is on a busy arterial. We'll get waves of customers coming home from the mall. Every time the signals turn green for exiting mall traffic, we get a platoon of cars entering the parking lot.
Me!
I'll be working from 2pm to 11pm, same as always. I don't anticipate much; despite special promotions the casino is just not the place to be on Black Friday.
New Years Eve is our hell day.
Working here, but not retail. Tax office.
A little busier because it's the end of the month, but nothing unusual.
It's a regular business day in Europe, so I had to work today (and just got home). Have to report for my regular shift at 10 PM tongiht.
I hate everything.

I just finished working it. You could say that I survived Black Friday!
Put in a half day, since that's as long as the building was open (systems integrator).
Wasn't anything I needed to run out and brave the masses to get anyway - I'd sooner bring home more money.
I've worked Black Fridays in retail before. I participated as a consumer in ONE. And if I can help it, never again.

Me too. Lines were stretched out to the store doors from the time I got there to 30 min before closing at 10 pm. I've never participated in Black Friday - shopping that is - let alone worked one.
At work again.... just another workday for me
