For anyone interested in the SH 183 expansion in Irving, I came across this PDF of the status of the right-of-way clearance on the corridor updated in September

The clearance has been playing out slowly over the last several years. There is definitely visible progress, especially the wide clear strip of property between Carl and O'Connor. But as the maps show, plenty of buildings still have an appointment with a demolition crew.
The latest reports I've seen on the project is that TxDOT is receiving another round of bids from private partners to start the project after the first request for proposals was a bust, and the new proposals are possibly including SH 114 in the scope.
It looks like TxDOT is preparing to proceed with the SH 183, SH 114, Loop 12 and Diamond Interchange projects - see public meeting notice.
I'm most interested to see what is planned for SH 114. In these multi-phase projects, the toll lanes are added first and the planned new free regular lanes are slated to be added in a future phase - if and when the money becomes available.
