What are some road geek songs that you know of?
Lots of Springsteen songs you could probably add to the list if you like his music....a few that readily come to mind are Thunder Road, Born to Run, Racing in the Street, The Promise, Stolen Car, Drive All Night, Wreck on the Highway, Highway Patrolman, State Trooper, Used Cars, Darlington County, Working on the Highway, Pink Cadillac, Further On (Up the Road), Gypsy Biker, From Small Things (Big Things One Day Come), and Held Up Without a Gun.
Ten Second News, Afterglow 61, and Route by Son Volt. Ten Seconds News refers to Interstate 44, Afterglow 61 is about US 61, while Route refers to US 66.
Netsky - Let's Leave Tomorrow

Danny Byrd - U-turn
Deep Purple - Highway Star
Bachman-Turner Overdrive's "Roll On Down the Highway."
L.L.Cool J - Farmers Boulevard

(shut your mouth, just drive the car / don't say nothing, keep your hands on the wheel...)
Autechre - Theme of Sudden Roundabout
Sir Mix-A-Lot - Something 'bout my Benzo + My Hooptie
(seems to mention I-5 in both songs, bit of a car nut)
You seem to quite a few that's also in my collection...
Highway 61 Revisited isn't all that much about the road itself, but I still say it belongs.
Cyantific - Streets of Rave (you won't be able to add this on this particular playlist because the label's distributor won't deal with Spotify due to their revenue policy)
Fountains of Wayne - I-95
Thick as a Brick
Warm Leatherette?
Route 66 - Chuck Berry
Life in the Fast Lane - Eagles
With varying degrees of actual relation to roads:
Sugar Ray - Speed Home California
Sugar Ray - Drive By
Train - Drive By

Train - Lincoln Avenue
U2 - Red Light
U2 - Where the Streets Have No Name
U2 - Exit
They Might Be Giants - Toddler Highway

System of a Down - Highway Song
The Doors - Roadhouse Blues
Rush - Between the Wheels

Smash Mouth - Road Man
Smash Mouth - 105
Dream Theater - Bridges in the Sky
I have ten songs of my own you can use:
Sheryl Crow--All I Wanna Do (being a former resident of L.A., it always brings back the nostalgia for me)
Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers--Free Fallin' (same as above)
John Mayer--Route 66
Rascal Flatts--Life is a Highway
Willie Nelson--On the Road Again
Ludacris--Move (perfect for sitting in rush-hour traffic)
Aretha Franklin--Freeway of Love
Keith Urban--You'll Think of Me (if only for that line "...with the moon shining bright as headlights on the Interstate")
Doobie Brothers--Rockin' Down the Highway
Kenny Loggins--Danger Zone (aka Highway to the Danger Zone)
Lake Shore Drive by Alliota, Haynes, and Jeremiah.
Day Tripper (The Beatles)
It Keeps You Running (Doobie Brothers)
Get Out of My Dreams, Get Into My Car (Billy Ocean)
Also a country song with the refrain "18 wheels and a dozen roses." That may be the title; I'm not sure.
"Highway Song" and "Road Fever," Blackfoot
A completely different song called "Road Fever," Foghat
"Back on the Road Again" REO Speedwagon
"Where the Streets Have No Name," U2
"Long Road," Britny Fox
"Roll Me Away," Bob Seger
"Highway Star," Deep Purple
"Highway Lady," UFO
"I Can't Drive 55" by Sammy Hagar
Rush - Red Barchetta
Robert Plant - Big Log
"Crosstown Traffic" Jimi Hendrix

"Highway Chile" - Jimi Hendrix
Aretha Franklin - Freeway of Love
Car crash songs, particularly of the 50s and 60s, are a rich and fascinating thematic genre (who can argue with the epic melodrama of "Leader of the Pack"?). Hell, WMBR, the excellent radio station of troublemaker haven MIT, even has a show called "James Dean Death Car Experience."
Consider these songs for the role of driver's-ed scared-straight movies of your listening experience. Sadly, we can't cross-post to the music nerds boards, but Wikipedia has an excellent starting list.
