Title: Cost of a Commercial Electric Car Charging Device?
Post by: jakeroot on February 06, 2014, 01:55:24 PM
I'm doing a project for school that involves Electric Car Chargers. We are creating a proposal that includes a budget. I, though, have no idea how much commercial car chargers cost, the large 240 volt kind. I want to install two, with an expansion "slot" for two additional chargers.

Does anyone have any resources for finding this information? I'm still looking on my own but am not having any luck.

Thank you,

Jake Root

Since this is rapidly becoming a standard setup in both homes and businesses, you should be able to contact just about any commercial electrician and get a quote.

Honestly, I'd go straight to the source - contact a manufacturer, explain you're doing a school project and just want a rough idea of how much they cost to purchase and install.

So I contacted ChargePoint but they didn't get back to me before the project was due. I estimated $7500 since it's a commercial location. I'm probably waaaay off but it'll have to do.
