Title: Pre-WWII signage for driving on the right at the Czech/German border
Post by: Brandon on March 07, 2014, 03:55:32 PM
Was reading a news article when I found this image of a sign at the Czech/German border from 1938 warning people to drive on the right.

It looks like the photo is from 1938 during the German annexation of the Sudetenland from Czechoslovakia.

It is.  The story is about Ukraine, Russia, & Crimea, but the photo struck me as something folks here might like to see.

IIRC, at the time, Czechoslovakia drove on the left.

Yes indeed, and historically timely.  It looks as if Sudeten Germans pictured are trying to tear down a then-German/Czech border column.
