Hello! I'm a new member to this forum from Pittsburgh, which seems to be a hot bed of "road geeks" from reading through topics and posts. I've lived in this area my entire life (almost 30 years) and have always been fascinated with roads as long as I can remember -- I think partly due to my father's tendencies to take the "roads less traveled" during trips. I was introduced to the Clinched Highway Mapping and Mob Rule Counties web sites last year and it gave me an outlet to explore this passion. I'm looking forward to taking part in this forum and sharing my thoughts and stories with everyone.

Welcome! :) Another new member from the city I still have/want to visit...
Yinzer is an interesting term.
As a point of reference, it seems like in many areas there is a distinction between home-grown types and the newcomers.
In NYC, there are very few real New Yorkers in the gentrified areas esp. Manhattan, those are mostly populated by outsiders who made it rich in business or entertainment. For real New Yorkers, you have to go to the outer boroughs.
In DC, this has a bit of a racial component. Many native Washingtonians (black) have left the city and moved to PG County but still return to their home churches on Sundays. Most of the rich white newcomers grew up outside of the area.
