Title: Mystic, CT was much more urbanized back in the day
Post by: kurumi on March 28, 2014, 11:40:31 AM
This eBay seller thinks his postcard is from Mystic, CT:

There's a 6-lane freeway (must be US 1), a clock tower, and several factories and offices. Mystic sure looks different today!

(Actually, the scene is from Boston -- their Mystic River and Custom House Tower.)

Also, the auction ends in a few days, so this thread has a short shelf life

And since the Mystic River is about a mile behind the photographer, I assume the listing just means it's in an area known in part for having a bridge over the Mystic.

Still, pretty sweet pic of the Artery when new.

What's really interesting is that the ramps on the artery look like they're from a badly rendered city simulator.

Love the 2 lane on ramp with no merge.
