I'm trained as an electronic technician. In my early career I worked on many a car radio/stereo of all types. Some of the OEM ones were pretty decent even in the early days. My first tape deck was a Radio Shack (made by Aiwa Japan) under dash cassette/FM unit in the early 70's....it had a pretty good FM section, but the cassette deck was mediocre. Later I had a Concord in dash model with a great cassette player, but an awful FM tuner.
