I don't see a problem with protecting the corridor and waiting a few more years before starting further studies, other than the route being needed by the time it would get through the courts if the studies started now.

I would enjoy seeing the Gateway Connector be built. It would provide quick access from I-55/70 at the US 40 interchange to I-255 at the Jefferson Barracks Bridge.
