Title: Texas bound and flyin'
Post by: Chris on July 02, 2009, 04:43:49 AM
What kind of road music do you like? By road music, I mean music that's themed around highways, cars, trucking, and travelling in general.

Robert Plant - Big Log

QuoteMy love is in league with the freeway
It's passion will ride, as the cities fly by
And the tail-lights dissolve, in the coming of night

I think this all-time classic should be known in the States as well as in Europe...

This song is originally from the Top Gun (1986) soundtrack. I like it :)

The VW Van left the shoulder driving in reverse.  But it was on the right shoulder and left driving in the correct direction.  Therefore it would have had to get to the shoulder pointing backward, a clear unlikelihood if not impossibility on the Interstate highway system.

What, did I miss something earlier?

Well, there's the I-10 shield lacking the white border and standard font.  Or was it the "I-44" shield?

The sad thing is that looks like something that could make it to the field in Oklahoma.

"Life Is A Highway" from Tom Cochrane is a particular favorite of mine.

One thing that will certainly will date this song in the future is:

Quote
I could see the bridge was lined with bears, but I didn't have a doggone dime.
Pigpen this here's a rubber duck we just ain't a gonna pay no toll.
So we crashed the gate doing 98...

Pretty soon there won't be a gate to crash once things go all ETC.

"So we knocked down the gantry doing 98..." - it just doesn't have the same ring to it.
