The 76-year-old James C. Nance Memorial Bridge closed Jan. 31 after repair work caused dozens of cracks to form. Closure of the thoroughfare has caused headaches for residents, turning a five-minute drive into a 45-minute commute between the two communities.

A Oklahoma Transportation Department spokeswoman said the bridge is expected to reopen in both directions Friday afternoon.

There will be a temporary load limit of about 15 tons as officials monitor the repair work and ensure the bridge remains safe.
