Just for the 2-digit Interstate routes:  I-97, H-1, H-2, H-3.  Also I-69C, and the newly-approved I-69W, at least until planned extensions are completed.

Most three-digit Interstates, too.  Easier to name the longer exceptions, like I-476 (PA) and I-135 (KS).

http://www.fhwa.dot.gov/reports/routefinder/ is the place to look up this kind of question (though not completely up-to-date).

I-97 in Maryland is ~17 miles. There are wayyyy too many 3dis that are shorter than 30 miles, so I won't list those...

EDIT: Damn, Oscar beat me to it.

Go here

http://cmap.m-plex.com/stat/system.php?u=all&sys=usai&du=mi&sort=ta&rpp=500#th (http://cmap.m-plex.com/stat/system.php?u=all&sys=usai&du=mi&sort=ta&rpp=500#th)

and scroll down to "Travels by Highway" to see all of the Interstates and disjoint segments of Interstates, sorted from shortest to longest.  Lengths in CHM are approximate, but generally pretty close.  Looks like there are almost 200 such examples when we include 3di's and disjoint segments (such as parts of I-74 and I-69 that are not connected to their longest segment(s)).

Both iterations of I-291 (CT and MA) are under 30 miles in length, and under 30 miles apart.

I'm really not sure why this is a thread. If it was meant to list really short 2dis, then it was over at post #2. If we're talking about 3dis, then the answer is the vast majority of them.

He was asking how many of us know of Interstates less than 30 miles.

The answer is 118.

I-370 of Maryland, clocking in at 2.54 miles. I wish the ICC didn't cut the Shady Grove Metro part out though...

Interstate 195 and 395 are also under 30 miles  :-/

The 195's in New Jersey and Rhode Island/Mass and the 395 in Conn/Mass aren't. And with that, the potential interestingness of this thread reaches its zenith.

You said Interstate 195 and 395 are under 30 miles, but there are Interstates with those same designations in other states (not Florida) that are longer than 30 miles.

587 is a joke. It's more of a joke than I-790 and I-189. Western terminus is a roundabout with a direct ramp to I-87 and, until recently, the Esopus Creek bridge was undivided. I-87 has no references to the bastard child of an Interstate that 587 is. Even more of a joke is I-180 in Cheyenne. Connected to I-80 with a diamond and only 2 instances of grade separation, with every intersecting road meeting it at a light.

I-190 (IL and SD)
I-280 (IL/IA)
I-290 (IL, at exactly 29.84 Mi  :spin: )
I-474 (IL)

I-895 is so short and under used, it should be a shame to call it an interstate or at least give it a full number anyway.  It should be a Spur I-95 or even Spur I-278.  Yes, I know it was to be part of a longer interstate that never got built due to community opposition, but nonetheless its a wasted number just as I-695 is just a few miles away.

True at least I-695 is used and serves as an important connector between two other longer interstates, but it is a wasted number as well.  Just like the Eastern branch of the BQE is numberless, this short connector could be or given I-295 Spur like I-270 in MD has.
