Title: That Run Down Feeling (AHTD)
Post by: US71 on July 11, 2014, 04:57:06 PM
For the second time in two weeks, it appears someone has run over the sign assembly at US71B and US 271 in Fort Smith.
Two weeks ago, they just took out a sign post. This time, it appears they demolished at least one sign.

I'm wondering if it be better to affix the signs to the signal pole so you don't have to keep sending out the sign truck to fix things?

Partially. The new sign posts are up, and some of the signs are back up, but the 255 sign is still waiting for a replacement since it was pretty well trashed.  I still think posting them on the light post would keep them from being hit so often.

Or, what about putting the assembly on the near corner: http://goo.gl/maps/YgGYa
just north of where that SOUTH US 271 sign is?  That part of the intersection doesn't look as wreck-scarred as the part where the light pole is.
