Has anyone been in a Wendy's restaurant since it was remodeled with the new look? What did you think about it?
I have!! In Marksville LA we have a new one.. Very sleek and modern, with plenty of seating. The layout is weird, compared to an older Wendy's.
There's one right down the street from my house. It was torn down and rebuilt. It's the swankiest fast-food joint I've ever been in.

Swanky, yes . . . with swankier prices as well. I would have preferred the old decor and the old prices.
The McDonald's in my area have had renovations the last couple of years.
Yeah they've been testing those here the past couple years. One of the things I've noticed along with the remodel is a general increase in the level of service. That and the pretzel bun being back is like a double whammy for me :)

In my area (Metro Detroit) service has gotten worse. At the Wendy's closest to home the cashier will take an order, disappear for a good five minutes, then leisurely saunter up to the register to take the next order and get it wrong. The franchise owner doesn't seem to care. They have two cash registers, but the second one is just for decoration; it's NEVER opened even at peak times.
DeKalb one looks really nice

I used to work at a Burger King with two registers, of which only one was usually open. There were two reasons for this–one, the second register normally served as a time clock, which was more difficult if it was also being a register, and two, if we had a spare person we could theoretically open the second register with, it was usually a much better idea to put them somewhere else, such as having a second person on burgers or order assembly. The front counter register was never the bottleneck.

At least it makes them look more presentable than the McDonalds, KFCs, Taco Bells and Burger Kings of the world. None of those chains seems to have major updates to their look since in the 80s/90s.
To my understanding,
every McDonald's either has gotten a cosmetic rebuild in the past few years or has one planned.
Burger King seems to be undergoing something similar, as does Wendy's.
Hardly matters. You can eat crap in a hut or a golden palace and you're going to get fat either way.

Maybe this person needs to view what McDonalds looks like in the late 80's, early 90's. There have been numerous changes to their overall looks over the past 2 1/2 decades.

I don't know where you live, but all those chains (plus Jack-in-the-Box, Hardees, Pizza Hut) have totally new designs since 2000. We have some older restaurants where the updated looks have not been done, but in general, they have.
So is Wendy's bringing back the Superbar?

There are dozens of articles out there on the McDonald's revamp, but honestly, if someone's got to pick something to ignore, I can't fault them for making it McDonald's.

My local Taco Bell just got remodeled this year. Mainly to allow it to now be open 24h and open ~20h inside. Seems that they are doing this one-by-one to add the new breakfest menu to them.

Sadly, no. That was what made Wendy's my favorite fast-food joint when I was a kid.

The pasta and alfredo was my favorite item on it. Then the butterscotch pudding for dessert... damn, right in the childhood feels, man.

I liked the old decor much better. The new look feels too cold and too hard. The white tile walls remind me of the way hospitals used to look decades ago.
A Burger King near me was torn down and rebuilt about two years ago. Even KFC is getting a new look.
My local Burger King has been remodeled. While the McDonalds, KFC, and Wendy's haven't been remodeled. But the McDonalds at Purdue has been remodeled.

Oh, hell yes, that and a fresh salad and it was ON...
As long as they still carry my Triples, I'm down with Wendy's (though I haven't eaten in one in over a year since I dedicated myself to losing weight, those Triples have to be far away from me :-D)

Major thumbs up to the pretzel bun. That needs to spread throughout the industry.
The last Wendy's I was at was in Plainville, CT...on New Year's Day. It's on CT Route 372, opposite the on ramp to CT Route 72 West. There's an older Wendy's across the way from WestFarms Mall, straddling the West Hartford/Farmington town line (hence the mall's name). I haven't been in it this year.
The one on US Route 5 in Brattleboro is close to the rotary, coming off of I-91's Exit 3 in the north end of town. It was only built some time in the last 5 years or so.
Want me to go to a Wendy's much sooner? Tell me that "Red" (Morgan Smith Goodwinn) from their TV commercials will be there. I like her! :)
The major advantage Wendy's has -for me- is that I can get chili instead of fries with my value meals.

Do they use old hamburgers to make their chili?

It's about 50/50 in its implementation: some pretzel bread tastes epic, and sometimes it just tastes like an overpowering bucket of salt.

They did when I last worked there, but that was 12 years ago.

A good pretzel bun has no additional salt. There is plenty of salty flavor in what you put on that bun, so there is no need.
For my money, a bratwurst on a pretzel bun is just about the finest thing in sandwich-related foods.
Oh man, now I want to go tailgating.
Any chance that Wendy's will bring back the salad bar? With the trend towards healthier eating, that may work for them.

I have not been inside one but I have seen the new Wendy's look from the outside. A Wendy's here in Dalton, GA off of SR 71 got remodeled. It looks pretty cool.

There are variations on a theme for the exterior; some have a big red barrel in place of the tower thingy in this pic but this is a general idea.

When I visited Pittsburgh a few weeks ago, I thought of stopping at Fallingwater to see one of Frank Lloyd Wright's buildings. Now I can just go to a Wendy's.

I noticed that wendy's version of the taco salad is not available any more
There are two Wendy's close to me, one remodeled, one not; the remodeled location has higher prices.
Further, of the 6 or 7 McDonalds close to me, about half have the new style. Only one Burger King near me has the new, spatula-handle design.
Jack-in-the-Box still leaves something to be desired; mainly, speed of delivery.
Speaking of Wendy's, they plans to expand in Canada.

I wish to see a more Wendy's in Quebec. They're only around in Montreal. I remember one who was in Drummondville, who closed in 2005 and replaced by another chain but some fans put a Facebook page to bring back Wendy's in Drummondville http://fr-ca.facebook.com/pages/Pour-le-retour-de-Wendys-%C3%A0-Drummondville/589487561070398
Now I wish to see one Wendy's on the new rest area on A-10 at Magog.
I forgot that there is a remodeled Wendy's on US 92 in Daytona Beach. I haven't been in it but the one on US 1 might be remodeled.
I'm not aware of any being remodeled or rebuilt in the Omaha area, nor do I know of any plans to do so. This year, it seems to be Taco Bell's turn to redo everything, although with McDonald's, they just tear down the old one and build a new one, which takes longer to do for an area.

Taco Bell recently redid one of my local locations, but they left the 'shell' in place when they redid it. Turned it into a new 24h location at the same time.

McDonald's often simply strips the roof overhang then frames the walls straight up and resides them, sometimes while remaining open. Interior remodels are more involved, but this type of work is so systematized that it can be completed very quickly. In high school I worked in a chain restaurant that closed for a weekend and did a full interior makeover in that time (it remained shitty, but was more colorful).
I don't think either of the Wendy's locations in Florence have gotten the new look yet.
The remodeled McDonald's in the Jackson area never closed.
