While the MUTCD now requires school crossing signs to be fluorescent yellow-green, the use of the color is optional for pedestrian and bicycle crossing signs.
I was wondering, do any cities close to where you live use fluorescent yellow-green for pedestrian and/or bicycle crossing signs?
I know here in the East Valley of the Phoenix metro area, the City of Chandler uses fluorescent yellow-green pedestrian crossing signs. Haven't noticed any fluorescent yellow-green bicycle crossing signs, though.
I've seen some bicycle lanes painted fluorescent yellow-green on the pavement itself for difficult areas like a channelized right turn crossing a bicycle lane. I like it but would like to see better signage with it and am hoping it doesn't fade (or that it gets maintained.) It's not as easy to see at night as one would expect.
I see a lot of them, but I can't name where off the top of my head. They're pretty common in revamped pedestrian crossings, of which there is a constant supply around here.
Yes, they are used in Kentucky.
It's now fairly standard in all areas of Nevada that all new school, pedestrian and bike/trail crossing signs use the FYG color.
