In San Angelo someone thought it would be a good idea to make dozens of fiber-glass sheep and i guess sell em' to businesses and have trhem painted. Someone stole the Goodfellow AFB sheep last month but i guess they found it.

San Angelo is like obsessed with sheep
Like, no way, Oh Emm Gee!
Go to Boston and you will find they are obsessed with painted cows
West Orange NJ had the cows for awhile. Bennington has moose every year. I've seen dolphins too. I for one appreciate seeing public art breaking up the monotony.
here is an Americamoose ... and a malfunctioning thermometer. It was about 36 in St. Ignace, MI when I took this photo!

158 F?
Yee haw! The day has finally came where the temp struck 158 F! :p :sombrero:
That is one stupid thermometer.
Anyways, is San Angelo's mascot a sheep? I'd be awful surprised if it wasn't.
^^ That 158's probably Celsius. Celsius numbers are often higher, aren't they?
Be well,

Not generally. 158 degrees Celsius would be 316.4 Fahrenheit. Now, Kelvin uses the same degrees as Celsius but the 0 point is absolute zero (-273 C). So, 158 Kelvin is -115 Celsius which is -175 Fahrenheit.
Therefore any way you look at it the sign is wrong! :pan:

Heres a picture of a sheep
Here in Rochester we had horses and later assorted animals. To the south, Canandaigua had deer.

Rams are similar to sheep, so SA's mascot is a sheep-ish.

So you're talking Scotland.
They don't shag sheep in Scotland. That's Wales or New Zealand...

I suspect he really doesn't find this thread offensive; he is probably jealous of the many conquests enjoyed by the Toast of Alanland (http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/science/nature/813466.stm). And the revenge exacted on poor Toast; now
that's excessive moderation!
I guess Big Matt won't be enrolling at Univ. of Kentucky's Geography Dept.

Lexington has horses, and I see someone else mentioned Bennington's moose.
During my brief stop in Seattle in 2001, there were pigs everywhere:

Cincinnati has a bunch of pigs as well.
Why was this thread locked? I complained to one of the mods and got it unlocked. This is a good example of my stance that the forum can be overmoderated at times.

In all seriousness, because it was bumped by NE2 for no real reason other than to make a joke, and to make a pointed comment about roadman65. Is it really necessary to keep open?

Was it necessary to close it in the first place? It will play itself out.
Whatever. I saw the lock as an obvious joke response to a joke bump. Now stop fighting among each other and join against our common caterpillar enemy.

Some people can see the truth in Michigan evidently.

Here's me in less-stupid days now. I failed to explain that San Angelo used to be the "Wool and Mohair Capital of the World", so we are just proud of our heritage I guess.. Haha, those sheep still annoy me, but they look a lil better now..
