Title: FL: Former Bridge Over Escambia Bay
Post by: Brian556 on December 06, 2014, 01:23:00 AM
What's the story on the former bridge over Escambia Bay that was south of today's I-10? It appears to have been eliminated a very long time ago.

You mean the old US 98 bridge over Pensacola Bay? I don't know of anything else south of I-10.

Thought I saw one on an old map...but can't find it now. Maybe I'm wrong.

The Northwest Florida Transportation Corridor Authority (http://www.nwftca.com/) once had an east-west bridge concept proposed from Pensacola east to the Garcon Point area. That is about as close you can find to a bridge between I-10 and the Three Mile Bridge of US 98.
