1. We only have 9 months to get flying cars and commence the start of air-road geeking.
2. That this is the very first post on AARoads in 2015.
I can't believe not a single taxi has honked their way thru Times Square yet.
4. I-86 hasn't been completed in New York
5. I-99 doesn't have a direct connection to I-80
6. I-95 hasn't been completed
7. We don't have flying cars
8. The Port Authority hasn't raised tolls to $50
9. The Bills haven't won a Super Bowl
10. Northern and southern California haven't started an intrastate civil war
11. This thread was started 25 minutes after the new year, not exactly at midnight

As the first post in 2015 in my time zone (UTC+1) was this one (From Interchanges with ramps in two states):
Quote from: Ace10 on December 31, 2014, 06:00:09 PM
I-55 Exit 291 in MS/TN has its northbound entrance and southbound exit ramps begin in Tennessee.
I-86 (east)/NY 17 also dips into Pennsylvania near exit 60, but that entire interchange appears to be within Pennsylvania. The next interchange east, Exit 61, has its eastbound exit and entrance ramps begin/end in New York but terminate at PA 199. Across the state line is NY 34, which is served by the westbound exit and entrance ramps, entirely in New York.
13. It's not the year of the goat for another month and a half.
14. That it is 2015.
Posted in 2014 for me.
15. I-210 still is technically not connected to I-10.
16. The US still hasn't gone metric.
17. Advanced distance signs along I-19 have not been replaced.
18. The MUTCD has still not rescinded Clearview.
19. Gas prices have fallen near $2 a gallon.
Worth mentioning again - where in the hell are the flying cars that we've all been promised?!?!

24. The Miami Marlins haven't been moved to the AL, as promised in Back to the Future II!
25. The southward extension of I-69 is far from being completed...
26. People are still talking seriously about the ridiculous portion of I-69 in Arkansas.
27. It's not butter!

That, and the Cowboys being in the playoffs is like being in a time warp to the 1990s! :-D
29. That the I-95 and I-276 interchange is not built.
28 was used as the last post even though he wanted it to be an extension of one of my items.
BTW, the Cowboys beat Detroit going another round further toward the Super Bowl.
30. I-71 hasn't been fully 6-laned between Cleveland and Cincinnati
31. The original Tappan Zee Bridge is still standing
32. There isn't a direct connection between the Northway and the Thruway in Albany, even though one has been planned for half a century
33. New York's state parks haven't started accepting E-ZPass payment for entrance fees
34. There exist toll roads/bridges in the E-ZPass service area that don't accept it (Atlantic Beach Bridge, I'm looking at you)
35. Texas hasn't removed all speed limits from certain stretches of highway

Of all the E-W splits, this one makes the least sense. Between Johnson City and Mars Hill, through traffic is going to follow US 23 (now I-26) and not 19W. It should either be put completely on the 23/26 alignment, or decertified as a US route and let 19E become plain 19. And even then, through traffic coming from Bristol is probably going to go to Johnson City and then take 23/26 instead of staying on 19(E) to the Mars Hill area.

By "complete" do you mean 7 games or 4? In the movie, the Cubs sweep Miami – that means only four games out of a scheduled seven, right? (On the other hand, if Game 4 is scheduled for 21 Oct or later, this whole post is moot; I haven't bothered to look it up.)
It's 2015 and I still can't believe that.....
There are still constant wars and fighting going on in the world. You would think at some point people would come to their senses and realize that it is stupid and not worth it.
At least here in the US, we have made it a huge point to learn from the mistakes of the past, particularly Hitler's. We make it a point to teach to our people why it is important be humane and civilized.
I can't figure out why the rest of the world can't do the same.

Have you not seen the arguments that persist on any and every subject? (Insert any political figure here) is one example, but it doesn't matter what the subject is: You have intense opinions on either side. And then whatever side loses sues.
^^ and has the US learnt the mistakes of Hitler?
Sure, there's (far older than Hitler) safeguards in place to stop totalitarian government and the US is better inoculated against anti-Semitism and one-Europe* philosophies, and 'third way'** Corporatist economic policy than European countries (including the UK, Ireland, etc that have Common Law and Magna Carta heritage).
However, the US is very susceptible to defining people by their ethnicity (more so than Europe, though we are constantly told to tick checkboxes sorting us by ethnicity to see whether there's any discrimination. I think I checked on at High School with 'other' and put 'human' or something and got told off and asked to change it. Certainly I've been told off about objecting to the question). And Eugenics is certainly a thing going on throughout the West, while not systematic by the state, merely allowed by them (though IIRC, a recent Government in Denmark vowed to eradicate Downs syndrome - by having the 10% of foetuses that have it and aren't aborted aborted) - we just don't talk about it these days due to the stigma that the Nazis put on it.
*One land, one people, one ruler. This is pretty much the EU-elite's greatest dream, but don't interrupt them saying it by repeating the slogan in German, or they will get all offended and make up a rule allowing them to vote to disenfranchise your constituents.
**Tony Blair used this term without irony, and next to no one picked up that it is straight out Fascism. I guess, because the Right were discredited after 18 years in power and just too tired to fight a lost battle, and the Left either didn't notice or care. Plus as it is trendy in Europe, the Centre loved it.

It would make more sense to begin DST at the end of April and end it at the end of September, rather than the end of March/end of October, but I agree it's quite useful during the summer months since the sun would rise at half past 2 o'clock in the morning here otherwise, and thanks to DST it's a more reasonable 3:30 AM. :P

Medium red: 1:00

With daylight savings time, this map would change. All of the map would become red (except Greenland), and anything that's already red would become a much darker red.
In addition, the Uniform Time Act of 1966, as well as the Energy Policy Act of 2005, allows states to opt out of DST, but do not allow states to permanently observe DST; states who observe DST must follow the national switchover dates (DST must start on the second Sunday of March and end on the first Sunday of November). To have the same effect requires states to switch time zones and opt out of DST, and any changes of time zone boundaries have to be approved by the federal government.
