ODOT is finally getting around to changing their poor excuse for a website. One thing they did was put some lipstick on the pig:

Their new logo sucks. I'm not just talking subjective aesthetics either, although IMHO this logo would look more at home on a bar of soap.
A DOT logo should be designed to be legible on outdoor signs (honestly, ALL logos should be doing that). The dated looking swoosh lines, the extreme size differences between the "O" and "DOT" as well as the microscopic "Oklahoma Department of Transportation" letters don't work for outdoor legibility.
On the bright side, at least they didn't design the logo around the "meat cleaver" OK state shape. That's one problematic design element.
It looks like it belongs in a coastal state

Is that a Death Star?
Looks like "Art - ODOT -2"
Kinda looks like a one-eyed Pepsi-Cola monster!
Speaking of new logos, just over the border, CDOT in Colorado has recently unveiled their new logo:
OLD: (https://www.aaroads.com/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fcms.ukintpress.com%2FUserFiles%2FImage%2FTTT%2520images%2F2012%2F04%2520april%2F05.04.12%2FColorado-DOT-logo-300.jpg&hash=45c0c2ab3404fd05c0b53f13532b6ecc7025bcbb)
NEW: (https://www.codot.gov/aashtoscort/assets/cdot-logo.png/image_preview)
As a side note, CDOT will now have similarity with other state department logos -- all will have the green CO mountain logo, while the individual departments (like CDOT) will have their own individual logo on the right.

Is that a Death Star?
So that's how they elimitante the truck trarffic...
The one in the right would make an awesome state route marker, although the one on the left would be more practical for 3-digit numbers.
iPhone
Just make it a giant letter 'O' with 'DOT' in smaller letters inside it. :spin:
