Just on a whim... which roads have long distance between services in California.... signed or unsigned.... minimum 50 miles...
So far, I have the following:
CA-62 - 93/100 miles between 29 Palms (https://www.google.com/maps/@34.135917,-116.030881,3a,75y,70.64h,82.28t/data=!3m4!1e1!3m2!1sldi2bRAkm7_aEQJiugIP-g!2e0!6m1!1e1) and Vidal Junction
CA-58 - 70 miles between Santa Margarita (https://www.google.com/maps/@35.389203,-120.57995,3a,75y,51.83h,96.61t/data=!3m4!1e1!3m2!1sEDTdqMiOPnLkfKVGGryb7g!2e0) and McKittrick, CA (https://www.google.com/maps/@35.293497,-119.631719,3a,75y,292.33h,65.85t/data=!3m4!1e1!3m2!1sXmnSq476GOJDYgII0yko5Q!2e0). Although I think the 82 miles is to Buttonwillow
CA-127 - 57 miles betweek Baker (https://www.google.com/maps/@35.269303,-116.075024,3a,75y,20.91h,81.26t/data=!3m4!1e1!3m2!1s04FDKUt2FKGuNuWuO5e6HA!2e0) and Shoshone (https://www.google.com/maps/@35.97256,-116.270421,3a,75y,207.19h,64.53t/data=!3m4!1e1!3m2!1sOE4A55uMeOs5Jo_I5HN49w!2e0)
I-40 - 55 Miles between Ludlow (https://www.google.com/maps/@34.724881,-116.172471,3a,75y,100.5h,85.44t/data=!3m4!1e1!3m2!1sv4YnhSOK0vmENE_tAOkKBA!2e0) and Essex (https://www.google.com/maps/@34.813964,-115.179242,3a,75y,260.87h,90t/data=!3m4!1e1!3m2!1sZHXCMotG8DfzXXm0z332iw!2e0)
I don't think US-395 between Bridgeport and Topaz qualifies, but only barely.... there was a very expensive station in between the two areas. Also, CA-36 between Hydesville and Red Bluff, thanks to a notorious price-gouging station in Platina.
Route 46 between Golden Hill Road in Paso Robles and Route 33 in Lost Hills lacks services for approximately 50 miles
Route 1 has a services gap from Big Sur to Cambria, 68.6 miles: https://goo.gl/maps/Y5ZQL
33 between Ojai and Ventucopa (57 miles)

There are services in San Simeon Village and Ragged Point, so the distance isn't quite as long.
There is a services desert (signed eastbound, at least) on SR 190 that runs 57 miles east of Stovepipe Wells--Amargosa (SR 127 junction) is the right distance to be the other endpoint.
I think the Ventucopa-Ojai desert (which I encountered last September) is also signed, but I have not been able to locate the sign in StreetView.
