The Missouri legislature has given approval on a bill (HB 207) that would submit to the voters of the State of Missouri a statute prohibiting any political subdivision of the state from using "an automated traffic enforcement system"

In Layman's terms: Red light camera would be banned should the measure pass and voters approve.

Although the news article focuses on red light cameras, speed cameras would also be verboten.

The article states that the bill had been given first-round approval. Since then, it has been given final approval in the house and has been sent to the Senate.

Good, I sincerely hope it passes.  There have been some serious abuses of them in Missouri.
