Title: Happy San Diego Day!
Post by: kurumi on May 08, 2015, 02:17:53 AM
It's almost 5/8/15, which (every 100 years) lists the three primary Interstate highways serving San Diego.

A century ago no one understood this reference; a century from now guitars will have been banned for 3 years and humanity will be dying out. So right now is a great time to be alive.

Some things to visit:

History of San Diego Highway Development (http://www.sdhda.net/pdf/70th_Anniversary_History_of_SDHDA.pdf) (PDF, 100 pages, published 1977 and 1985. There are some cool historic photos and maps here.)

And my wife's from there, so I have to tell her about this!

Also, as for once a decade, if you don't get too hung up on the zero, there was also 8/15/05 and 5/15/08.

(I waited years for 90/93/95, but it never came.)
