Right now, Southern Pennsylvania is so hot I'm only wearing shorts. 83 degrees Fahrenheit is not pretty. On topic, since OC is four hours from Chambersburg, I decided to scrap the idea. So, I decided to think about Great Wolf Lodge. It's in Scotrun, about 2 hours and 50 minutes from here.
Here's my proposal to get there: US 30 to the PA Turnpike in Breezewood (31 miles)
Turnpike to exit 110 (6.80 toll) (52 miles)
Get onto US 219 from PA 601 (half a mile)
Follow US 219 to DuBois, I-80 exit 97 (100 miles)
I-80 to exit 303 (206 miles)
PA 611 to the access road (1/2 miles)
This is more scenic than what the Goog suggests.
Here's what it suggests:
I-81 to exit 89 (73 miles)
I-78 to exit 51 (51 miles)
US 22 to I-476 (1-2 miles)
I-476 to exit 95 (29 miles)
I-80 to exit 303 (27 miles)
PA 611 to access road (half a mile)
Can you guys suggest routes for me? I'm planning to do this in June-July.
I-99 is actually fairly scenic and way faster than US 219 which is slow north of Ebensburg.
Also particularly slow would be US 209.
US 11-15 is fairly nice and moves well for 95% of it.

Only 83 degrees? We're hitting the 90s over here in New Jersey more often then we should for this time of the year. I went golfing on Monday, and I couldn't believe how hot the sun felt on my body - I was in a polo shirt and cargo shorts too!
By the way, if Ocean City,
Maryland is too far away, why not visit the
other Ocean City in New Jersey instead? ;-)

Probably for the same reason, given his location.

Oh wow, I was totally unaware that Ocean City, New Jersey was nearly 4 hours away. Never mind. I thought Chambersburg was closer to Philadelphia, but in reality, it's much closer to Harrisburg instead.
Why not go to Action park in NJ.

Why not go to Action park in NJ.
Still cracks me up that they reverted to a name that is mainly legendary for the stories of negligence attached to it. The core group of folks who remember it as Action Park are now older than the target audience, and if the Action Park name really clicks with them it's going to be as something they loved as kids and would never in their right minds send their own kids to.
Traction Park?
From what I've heard, Great Wolf Lodge is overrun with New Yorkers and overpriced. I've never been there though. I've only passed by it going to/from Mt Airy Casino a bit further up PA 611. Sorry noel, you're too young to go to the casino.
I'll be in that area from Michigan in about a month when they open up Kalahari Resort. My wife and I take our kids to the Kalahari in Ohio, and we love it! Just like Great Wolf Lodge, but much bigger. As soon as we heard they were going to open one in the Pocono area, we decided to make a family road trip out of it. Plus I wouldn't mind taking a quick drive east on I-80 to see the New York Skyline.
