I didn't see this posted in the past.
For some reason I thought this bridge was going to be wide enough to carry four lanes since US 63 was expanded to four lanes southeast of there.
anything about a bridge is worth posting twice anyway

The bridge is built for four lanes. They will make it four lanes when they build the four lanes on the other side of the bridge.

Is that happening right now or will be as part of this project, or will that be a project for later?
QuoteThe new bridge will have an 80,000 pound weight limit.
That seems low... 40 tons on a US highway?

Especially for a brand new bridge. Maybe it is because the other parts of US 63/US 412 aren't truck friendly?

40 Tons is the typical max GVWR of a semi. They don't want it used by super heavy trucks.

For comparison, what is the limit for a new interstate bridge...

This is just a guess but I would say it would probably be 70 tons.

Drove over it on the 4th, and they are moving dirt on both sides. But it is going to be a while before it will be open.
