Washington Post: Md. Gov. Hogan announces he has 'advanced' cancer (http://www.washingtonpost.com/local/md-politics/maryland-gov-larry-hogan-announces-that-he-has-cancer/2015/06/22/6b00eae2-1917-11e5-ab92-c75ae6ab94b5_story.html)

QuoteMaryland Gov. Larry Hogan disclosed Monday that he has been diagnosed with late stage 3 non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, which he described as "a very advanced and very aggressive"  form of cancer.

QuoteHogan, 59, was sworn into office in January after winning an upset victory over then-Lt. Gov. Anthony G. Brown (D).

QuoteHe said he would soon begin aggressive chemotherapy treatments, and would rely on Lt. Gov. Boyd Rutherford (R) to fill in for him on state business as needed.

QuoteHe described the cancer as a lymphoma, and said it had spread through his abdomen and was "pressing up against my spinal column."

I wish him all the best. No one should ever have to go through that.

Seems like a lot of politicians with cancer lately. Joe Biden's son, attorney general of Delaware, died of cancer recently.
